This little old blog has been around this whole internet world for four months now, I can hardly believe it. One of my favorite things to do is getting involved in other blogger events. I loved the Elf for Health challenge, Girl Between the Lines has introduced me to a ton of new bloggers, and Taste of Tuesday is a great way to link up with other foodies out there.
I wanted to find some type of food sample review and came across The Lean Green Bean’s Foodie Pen Pal program. Each month she pairs up bloggers and non-bloggers and they have to send $15 worth of food goodies to their pen pal. I immediately signed up and awaited my pen pal pairing. I was paired to swap foodie items with Chrystal who blogs over at Yum Eating. We emailed back and forth for awhile and found out that we live about an hour away from each other! I really enjoyed “meeting” her and have gained another blogger friend 🙂
My 1st Foodie Pen Pal box arrived in the mail and I was so excited! Inside Chrystal including some of her favorite things. Below I am sharing my opinion on some of my favorite goodies in the package.
dasani flavor drops
I loved these!! I am terrible at drinking plain water unless I am working out. I always have lemon, cucumber, lime, or berries in my water. These strawberry kiwi flavored drops made me guzzle my water down. They do not have any calories and really taste like that delicious, sugary kool-aid we used to chug on a hot summer day. I checked out the other flavors at the store, but have not purchased any others. They now are a regular on my grocery list.
starbucks via colombia instant coffee
I eye these bad boys every time I go get Starbucks. I expected them to make my coffee gritty, not taste like Starbucks and certainly disappoint. Disappoint they did not! I grabbed a large cup of hot water at work, stirred in my usual cream & sugar. It was Starbucks. Carry these in your purse and if you are somewhere with awful coffee, order hot water and you have a delicious steamy cup of Starbucks.
Chrystal LOVES tea so I was not surprised to find some tea inside. My favorite was definitely the watermelon mint black tea. I have never tried such a flavor and it was so refreshing! Even after it cooled it tasted great. When I worked in the foodie world [sigh] I would visit The Republic of Tea at the trade shows – I love their teas and strongly recommend
The little Canadian flag thing shape (what is that?) is a maple sucker that Chrystal got while on a trip in Canada. It was so unique! Tasted sort of like pancakes on a stick [hmm this just gave me a great idea]. It was very sweet and smooth, not something I would typically eat which is EXACTLY what I was looking for in a foodie swap. I am not sure where she got these little sweet thing, but it sure was tasty!
I really enjoyed everything she sent to me and it was so fun participating in the event! I plan on joining again next month! You can too! You do not have to be a blogger either. All the information can be found here. Join in on the fun and don’t forget to check out Yum Eating!
