SHARE 1 THING YOU WOULD DO DIFFERENTLY IN 2014
Many people are posting their goals, resolutions, ambitions and promises to themselves and others today. It is nice to reflect and make these plans, but oftentimes they are ignored a week later. I am guilty. Per usual, I have my standard resolutions that I intend to keep, but fall off the band wagon pretty fast. However, this year they are posted on my blog so I feel more obligated to stick to them 🙂 I picked 14 attainable goals to work towards in 2014 & then ONE thing to do differently this year. So readers here they are, hold me accountable, check in with me, create your own. We can do this, bring on 2014.
1. Work to pay off all credit cards.
2. Smile more often.
3. Read 4 classic books:
Les Miserables, The Scarlet Letter, Great Expectations, & Gone with the Wind.
4. Run a 5K and 10k for a good cause.
5. Take walking breaks at work twice a day.
6. Try a juice cleanse.
7. Lose 15 pounds.
8. Create a 2013 photo album.
9. Get paid for Not So Doughie
10. Participate in another 10 day Bikram Challenge.
11. Learn to bake.
12. Show love more often to those I love.
13. Buy a bike.
14. Start a club: dinner club, book club etc…
The one thing I will do differently this year that I did not in 2013 is to become a more faithful and spiritual person. Bryan and I attended church when we needed to… Easter, Christmas, the occasional Sunday. However, it is my goal (and therefore Bryan’s too) to attend church more often. In addition, it is important that I incorporate faith and spirituality back into my everyday life. Whether it is a kind deed, saying prayer before dinner (which we do), or attending church functions, I fully plan to dedicate more time to focus on becoming closer to God. As I get older, I realize that health isn’t just the number on the scale or exercising, but it is a balance of physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. With faith, I believe my stress, hardships and personal struggles in life will become a little bit easier to handle.
So here’s to a good year & attainable goals. I wish you a happy, peaceful, and not so doughie 2014!

I love your list, Sara! I don’t like resolutions either. I think the word itself has a bad connotation. However, I want to take and print more pictures. I want to write down one good or funny thing that happened each day. Heck, I may even write about something bad or serious. As Daddy says, “It’s a memory, good or bad.” I just want to write them down So I can remember them.

thanks 🙂 I am pretty good about picture taking, but terrible at getting them together in an album. It is on my list to complete though! Good luck with all of yours and thanks for visiting.

Visting from TGBTL! Love your goals! I’ve had The Scarlet Letter on my reading list forever but I can never seem to get past the first five chapters. Good luck with your goals!

Hi, Donna! Thanks for stopping by my page. I have started the book over and over and over… I think I need to get the “Cliff Notes” to get through it. I will be heading over to your site to see your TGBTL posts 🙂

Visiting from the Girl Between the Lines!
I like these goals as they seem attainable but challenging, rather than lofty and impossible. I also admire your one thing to do differently. I’m also working to grow in my spirituality; it’s amazing how important that is for life balance! Good luck, and I hope to read more from you on this as the year goes on!

Hey there! Thanks so much for stopping by 🙂 I was raised Catholic, but in my adult years have grown distance with my faith. Taking baby steps to find out where/how it will be incorporated back into my life. I will be stopping by your page!

Love your obtainable goals!…Those always work better then just throwing things out there. .. One of my goals is to not take things so seriously..work, family stuff, kids…need to start enjoying instead of worrying.
